Bev Major, local Finance Director for Drivers Direct on Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds, is set to have her head shaved for The Giles Trust on Saturday 6th July at 2:30pm, the day after she gets married to John Major who is the director of the branch. The charity shave is being kept in the Angel Hill area and will take place just next door at Mr Barbers. The Giles Trust is a fund for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, helping to support patients and cutting-edge research for treating tumours.
Bev has been personally invited to help raise funds by Brian Travers of famous reggae band, UB40 who was treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for two brain tumours. Bev’s fundraising target is £3,000 and Travers is to cut the first curl at the head shave event.
Bev Major, Finance Director for Drivers Direct, comments, “As an avid fan of UB40 and now a friend of Brian Travers, I’m delighted to be helping to support The Giles Trust and I really appreciate all the support I’ve had so far. Having my head shaved is an exciting and nerve-wracking prospect but it’s for a worthy cause and I’m so grateful for all the donations so far.”
To help support the cause, donations are being accepted via Just Giving:https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bev-michala
